Once you've mastered all of Whistler's best green runs (see: The Best And Worst Novice Runs In Whistler) it's time to level up and hit some blue runs!

Much like the green runs at Whistler, some blue runs are more like black runs so you should choose your first blue runs wisely, especially if you're with kids!

Here are the best and worst blue runs in Whistler:

THE EASIEST BLUE RUNS ON WHISTLER

Banana peel (more like green)
Orange peel
Green Acres
Jolly Green Giant
Crabapple

THE HARDEST BLUE RUNS ON WHISTLER

The Saddle (don't be fooled by the blue square, this run is a steep black run!)
Peak To Creek (very long and steep in many sections, once you're on it, you're on it for a long time)
Franz's Run (ALWAYS EXTREMELY ICY)

RECOMMENDED: If this is your first time skiing/riding in Whistler and you're used to skiing blue runs at your home resort, start on green just to be sure. Whistler/Blackcomb are steep mountains and the blues here are more like black runs at other resorts.

PRO TIP: Check the grooming report so you are surprised with a steep blue run full of moguls! Not every run is groomed everyday.

BLUE RUNS ON BLACKCOMB

Blackcomb has the most blue runs between the two mountains and they are all relatively similar in pitch. If you can ski one, you can ski them all.

PRO TIP: The blue runs on Blackcomb are longer and steeper than the easiest blue runs on Whistler. If you are confident and in control on the steep sections of Whistler's easiest blue runs, you'll be able to ski on Blackcomb's blue runs.

NOT SURE WHAT YOU'RE READY FOR?

Hire a ski guide/private lesson guide to show you around the mountain and take you to the best spots for your ability. One day with a guide will get you oriented and make your experience the best it can be!
