Come and experience the true magic of winter in Whistler. Winter doesn't have to be a cold miserable time, actually it can be the opposite. Just make sure you dress warm, bring snacks and get ready to turn into a kid again and play in the snow!!

Whistler is friendly for the whole family with endless snowy activities, but here are my top 5 best ones that the whole family will love:

1. Skiing and snowboarding

Not to state the obvious, but skiing and snowboarding are for all ages. You can ski with the whole family together, go in separate lessons (sometimes the kids enjoy more when they are with kids their own age and ability - and so might you) or maybe a combination of both. A few days of lessons and a few days skiing as a family - as you want.

Kids can ski as young as 3 in ski school and I highly recommend starting them young!

2. Zip-lining

Get your adrenaline pumping while flying through the snowy trees on Whistler and Blackcomb. It's super fun for everyone and a great adventurous memory for your whole family. Don't forget your goggles especially if it's snowing otherwise you'll be cold and miss the views!! I would also recommend dressing warmer than you would skiing so you don't get cold and can fully enjoy the experience.

3. Snowmobiling

There are plenty of snowmobiling or cat skiing opportunities. You can head up Blackcomb at sunset to Crystal Hut for an evening of cheese and chocolate fondue, ride to a remote back country hut for a Yukon breakfast or, take an adventure tour to see frozen waterfalls and breathtaking views. You can enjoy a relaxed beginner ride while you learn to drive (the kids can try their own mini-mobile too!).

4. Tubing

Enjoy some all-ages fun at the Coca-Cola tube park at base 2 Blackcomb. You'll need to start from the village and jump on the Excalibur Gondola. Get off at the first stop and walk up a short hill to the tube park. The park is open from 11am-6pm and is fully lit when it's dark so you can even enjoy after a full day of skiing. Finish the evening with some Belgian waffles, hot chocolate or hot dog 😉

5. Horse-Drawn Sleigh Rides

Sit back, relax and get cozy with the whole family on a iconic sleigh-ride! The kids will love the horses and it's the perfect after-skiing relaxation activity. You will even stop at a small hut for a camp fire and hot chocolate.

There are many more family friendly activities in Whistler. See the full list here.
